4) The Site’s Niche – Check out Commission Junction and Clickbank… and you’ll see that there is virtually an endless list of products you can promote. However, the “Best-Selling” or “Top Products” from affiliate networks shouldn’t be the only deciding factor when picking your site’s niche. Choosing a niche for your affiliate site should involve more research and analysis than that. After all, the success of your site relies mostly on your topic’s level of demand and how well you take advantage of your readers’ needs.
“All of them, we found, have some flaws in fit, functionality, or convenience. Because this is the first generation of the technology, manufacturers are still working out the kinks. As a result, we can’t make an overall pick that we think would work for most people. What will work for you depends on what mobile device you have and how willing you are to put up with performance glitches in order to take advantage of a cutting-edge (but still clearly work-in-progress) convenience feature.”
Affiliate marketing on prominent coupon sites such as Groupon and RetailMeNot have proven to be highly successful. People love a bargain, and savvy shoppers there are often discounts available when shopping online. The best thing about this type of content is that instead of relying on your content and brand influence to push for conversions, you can rely on your readers love of a bargain. These shoppers perform searches to seek out these discounts. There are a lot of coupon style websites dedicated to promoting affiliate products to capitalize on this search traffic.
An elegantly straightforward process, affiliate marketing via reviews, blogs, social media, and other platforms is a new frontier in marketing that’s just waiting to be utilized. Follow the tips included in this article, and you’ll be able to engage your audience, convert passive readers into active consumers, and enhance your paycheck one click at a time.
When you’re finding your audience, and finding ways to reach them, you are building yourself up as an authority. A lot of people say they don’t want to have their name out in the public. And that’s okay—you can build authority from behind the scenes. You can still build a following of people that will open your emails and check out your site. You can still get people to come back to you.
Browsing the web, you’ll have noticed various call to actions to sign up for a brands newsletter. Digital marketers have long encouraged their readers to subscribe to their lists. Email lists let you contact previous site visitors, outside of them being on your website. This is what makes them so effective, they expand your reach. The flexible structure of emails allows plenty of room to get creative.
Let’s say you are in a climbing niche and promote climbing equipment like clip lock carabiner hooks. A package of 5 carabiners costs $15 at Amazon, for example. Depending on how much you sell, your Amazon commission will be between 4% and 8.5%. That means even in the highest commission level you only make $1.28 per sale. If you only have items on this price level, you have to sell 132 of them each day to make about $5,000 affiliate income per month.
SEO for organic search: Search engine optimization (SEO) is a marketing tactic in its own right. Good SEO helps you craft post content targeting specific terms, called keywords, to rank high in the search results in Google and other search engines. This is something to understand and implement early to make the most of your content from day one. SEO is also why a narrow niche focus is best for most affiliate marketers. Targeting niche-specific keywords help you rank high in search results and be found by readers interested in your niche.

There are many reasons to look for a free affiliate website builder. You're either developing a new website, or an update on your existing website, and you want to know the best platform: one that combines ease-of-use with a great look that your users will appreciate. Which platform should you choose? It's got to be great for posting articles quickly, but also effective in showing off your affiliate marketing adverts.
This question is the main reason of webmasters not going for affiliate programs. They have AdSense and they are receiving a check per month. They are earning somewhere between 0.5 – 1.5$ per thousand visitors and its fine for them (at least). But have you noticed the large drop in the Cost per clicks of these programs? The revenue is going down and you hardly see any clicks generated because of people’s banner blindness?
To find out if there’s internet and social traffic surrounding your niche, try doing some search engine keyword research and search for related topics on social media. If keywords related to your topic have large search volumes, and if you find related Pinterest boards, Facebook pages and Instagram streams with lots of followers, you have an audience.
So prioritize your tasks with first things first and don’t procrastinate things that urgently need to be done to grow your business. Traffic generation is #1 priority (done by content creation). Without traffic there is nothing to measure and monitor in GA and GWT. And even if your traffic engine runs, don’t check your stats several times a day, once a day is perfectly fine!
Great article. I am guilty of a few of these things that you listed but I made some improvements. One thing I know I need to do is test and tweak just try out new things and not be afraid of doing that. I am just starting to get around to that now. Another big thing that I liked that you said was patience. That is probably the most important. Because you can put in so much work and not see much progress, but if you keep doing that overtime you will definitely notice. Seems like that is where people begin to give up and start doubting their selves. This stuff takes a lot of hard work. I put in at least about 30 hours a week into this on top of 40 hour week job.
Google Adwords can be used to drive targeted traffic to a sales page. You simply make an ad in your adwords account then use your affiliate link in the target page URL of the ad. Obviously, you will have to continuously measure the conversions and see if the campaign cost is less than the campaign profit in order to keep the campaign running but I am sure you get the idea.
Unfortunately, the 2Checkout dashboard is a bit limited in scope, making it difficult to get any metrics on conversion rates or even sorting by commission payouts. The workaround is to go to the Avangate store, which does list their best-selling products, and then search for these on the affiliate dashboard. That being said, 2Checkout does offer products from more than 4,000 different vendors, making it the leading affiliate network for software and digital products.
Let’s say you have a promotions page where you’re promoting a product via affiliate links. If you currently get 5,000 visits/month at a 2% conversion rate, you have 100 referrals. To get to 200 referrals, you can either focus on getting 5,000 more visitors, or simply increasing the conversion rate to 4%. Which sounds easier? Instead of spending months building domain authority with blogging and guest posts to get more organic traffic, you just have to increase the conversion rate by 2%. This can include landing page optimization, testing your calls-to-action, and having a conversion rate optimization strategy in place. By testing and optimizing your site, you’ll get far better results with much less effort.
To get more people to your website, it’s a matter of learning keyword research above all else. Personally, I start with a ‘mind map’. I come up with the MAIN categories of content in my niche, and break those down into smaller categories, and finally, into individual articles. Each article is targeted at a specific keyword. Done correctly, and assuming enough people are interested in the same topics (you might be surprised) you can drive a steady flow of targeted, free, organic traffic to your site/s.
Recipes: If you use any type of social media, you know that recipes are a great way to create shareable content. If you can find some way to relate your topic to food and include a recipes section, you’ll have a place to add unlimited content. Plus, you can extend your product promotions into related cooking tools. Need a source for blog-worthy recipes? Check out the freelancers at Fiverr.

JVZoo’s strength is that it allows experienced marketers to gain access to product launches and a huge range of online courses while setting up sales funnels and customized landing pages. It’s definitely not for someone who wants to monetize a blog or earn money by having users click through and buy physical products. We can setup the website to automatically post all new content as tweets to Twitter. This helps get each new page a backlink from Twitter, which in turn will help new pages get indexed. Besides new pages on the site, it is also a good idea to post other content to the Twitter account, and we can use RSS feeds for that. This will help keep our Twitter account "real" and not just look like a self-promotion tool.
Blatant sales and self-promotion sites never gain traction. You need to help your visitors and provide quality information they find useful so that they keep coming back. If you look at the sites that rank well for the various terms used in your niche, you will find that useful information wins out. Do your research and provide more details or updated information.

It takes more work to build a profitable website than it did a few years ago, but it still can be done.
